Welcome to Pack 163,
Your scout and you are about to embark on a wondrous and adventurous journey.
The purpose of the Boy Scouts of America, incorporated on February 8, 1910, and
chartered by Congress in 1916, is to provide and educational program for boys
and young adults, to build character, to train in the responsibilities or
participating in citizenship, and to develop personal fitness. The Boy Scouts
of America
is organized in programs dedicated to instilling positive values in youth of
differing ages. Traditional scouting programs are Cub Scouting,
for boys ages 6-10 (including Tiger Cubs, Cub Scouts, and Webelos) and Boy
Scouts for boys ages 11-17.
Scouting involves the scout interacting with their parents, adult leaders. Akela,
and other scouts. Scouting is not a competition or a baby-sitting service.
Scouting hopefully, is a way to help shape the individuals for any life
situation.
Again, welcome and if you have any questions please do not be afraid to ask.
