  1. Awards to submit to Nancy?

  1. May Meeting:
    1. Café not available for backup plan.

                                                              i.      Mike will get Pinkerton as a backup.(May 30)

 

  1. February Pack Meeting – February 15, 6:30 Tigers, 7:00 Others – Pinewood Derby - Chester Academy
    1. How did it go?

                                                              i.      Great

                                                            ii.      Quick

                                                          iii.      Made $77 on snack sale, Mike will bring $$ to B&G.

    1. What should we do different next year?

                                                              i.      1 or 2 more adults helping load cars from table to track

                                                            ii.      Do Sat afternoon if we want to sell hot dogs again

                                                          iii.      Set up hot dogs at door

                                                          iv.      2 computers to enter info on Cub Cars while Tigers are racing.  Or write info on piece of paper and enter at once.

                                                            v.      Email winners to den leaders after the race.

 

  1. Blue & Gold Banquet
    1. Do a theme for Blue and Gold

                                                              i.      Camp Carpenter theme

                                                            ii.      Recognition for adults – Mike has ideas

                                                          iii.      Arrows for boys crossing over – Larry has created arrows

    1. January Updates

                                                              i.      Checks will be written to Pack 163, we’ll reimburse Larry

                                                            ii.      Each Den can bring drinks, pack will provide water

                                                          iii.      Will do stuffed shells and meatballs vs. the chicken parm

                                                          iv.      Pack provides place settings

                                                            v.      Next Month

1.      Need to assign duties and calculate final counts – have servers, let people serve themselves seconds

2.      Theme – camp theme – need to iron out

3.      Sign-ups for decorations

4.      Discuss slide show – run once with music and dimmed lights, then run continuously

                                                          iii.      Food will be picked up at 6:00 so it will be good at 6:30.

                                                          iv.      Balance is $320.16

                                                            v.      Ted will pick up the food and bring to the meeting.

                                                          vi.      Larry will let Kevin and Mike know when to start setting up.

                                                        vii.      Ted will bring a lighter.

                                                      viii.      Pack supplies Water, Den leaders bring any other drinks.

                                                          ix.      Den leaders, give pictures to Eric by this weekend (March 8).

 

  1. April Pack Meeting – April 18, 7:00 – Rain-gutter Regatta - Chester Academy

                                                              i.      Rain-gutter Regatta

                                                            ii.      ~$100 include sundae party

                                                          iii.      Check labels for nuts or nut factories – Ted will bring special ice cream for Teddy

                                                          iv.      Den leaders bring crayons/markers, etc.

                                                            v.      Eric will figure out how much it will cost.

                                                          vi.      Ted will ask Benson’s if they will donate.

                                                        vii.      Eric Vachon will help out with cutting up boat parts.

 

  1. Chuckwagon Derby

                                                              i.      Mike is going to have a meeting before to:

1.      Practice a cheer

2.      Get everyone up to speed on what they need to do such as tie a certain knot

3.      Have fun and games

                                                            ii.      Mike will send email next week with a date

                                                          iii.      Bears who have gotten Bear badge can also do Webelos weekend as an option.

1.      Bring own tents

                                                          iv.      Pack will pay for chuckwagon Derby

                                                            v.      Any more than 8 or 10 boys we’ll need a separate wagon

                                                          vi.      Mike will find out when we need to sign up by and let Den leaders know.

                                                        vii.      Den leaders will find out who wants to go.

 

  1. Fun Activities
    1. Everyone agrees extra money should focus on kids’ fun.

                                                              i.      Vertical Dreams ($12/scout – 3 hours, gym to selves on Sat Morning)

                                                          vi.      Sleepovers – Camping, Battleship Cove

                                                        vii.      Museum sleepover

    1. Larry will look into battleship cove
    2. Look at funding Winter Carnival and Chuckwagon or subsidize.

                                                              i.      Could have people sign something that if they don’t go, they have to reimburse the pack?

                                                            ii.      Discuss funding of district events at committee meeting 1 ½ months to 2 months before event.

                                                          iii.      Nancy will make a sample form for the Chuckwagon derby

                                                          iv.      Decision not made yet

    1. Vertical dreams – Saturday April 5 (8 – 11:00).

                                                              i.      Mike will get tour permit

                                                            ii.      Parents must come to fill out forms at Vertical Dreams

                                                          iii.      $12 per person.

                                                          iv.      Can pay at event, no additional charge.

                                                            v.      Pack will pay half ($6) for each Cub Scout.  If less than 13 attend, Pack will make up difference for the $150 minimum

                                                           vi.      March Updates

1.      Melissa is coordinating

2.      Attendees should bring either cash (exact change) or check for Pack 163 to event ($6 per Cub Scout climber, $12 for any other climber)

3.      Waiver forms can be printed from Vertical Dreams web site, filled out in advance and signed.

 

  1. Camp
a.      Camp is $255 this year, $50 per kid and $50 per extra leader due by March 15 and balance by May 15.
b.      Schedule:  July 20 - 24
                                                              i.       Sunday – Check-in, swim test, etc.
                                                            ii.      Monday Night - Ice Cream Social
                                                          iii.       Tuesday Night - Medieval Dinner (you can wear Medieval clothing if you wish)and Camp wide event
                                                          iv.       Wednesday - Packout (move to Wednesday to curb home sickness)
                                                            v.       Thursday - BBQ from 5:45 - 6:30
c.       Other:
                                                              i.       Whittling Chip is only for Bear and Webelos this year.
                                                            ii.       New forms required for Epi-pens and Inhalers (require Dr. Signature)
                                                          iii.       If you carry Epi-pen or inhaler, you need to bring two.  1-for the child, 1-for the health lodge.

                                                              i.      Mike is bringing in options to review to next Committee Meeting.  Mike knows a guy who did some for $5 for some things.  Also found a web site that does some.

    1. Mike will send out update soon as everyone was out of town last week.
    2. This can be used toward World Conservation or other awards.
