Pack 163 Committee Minutes

September 5, 2007

 

 

  1. Town Fair and Parade – Saturday Sept 8th: Noon – 6 or 9 PM
    1. From last Month

                                                               i.      Notes from last year

1.      Get more people to help Deb decorate the trailer or at least offer help.

2.      Do candy again but save some to give to kids after the corner.

3.      Police kids not to throw at vehicles, dogs, etc.

                                                             ii.      Do we want to March in the parade Meet at 11:30 at MPR to line up?

1.      Yes, we will march

2.      Sue will check on trailer, otherwise, we’ll all walk.

3.      Sue will pick up candy

                                                            iii.      Do we want a booth $15 (+$25 with electricity)?

1.      No

2.      We could possibly put something in the Scout booth looking for registrations.  Sue will get sign at council office.

                                                            ii.      Who can notify new boys who have already signed up?

                                                          iii.      Mike will notify newly signed up kids.

  1. New Scout Sign-up – Sept. 14 at CA

                                                               i.      Notes from last previous years

1.      Plan early for the registration and get more signs out, maybe have someone go to the classrooms and talk about scouts.

2.      Need to advertise to all grades, not just Tigers.

3.      Can order fliers from Council that talk about joining Cub Scouts.

4.      Hand out list of dates and uniform stuff at sign up.

5.      Make sure we have books for everyone at the den setup.

6.      Do a week between the sign-up and den setup.

7.      Get flyers printed from council next year- They do the fancy ones for free.

8.      Put flyers in newsletter.

                                                            ii.      Sue will get lawn signs from council

                                                          iii.      Mike will set up and try to do a talk to the school kids about joining cub scouts

                                                          iv.      Sue will order flyers to put in school newsletter

3.      Buy Cub Scout Leader Books for new leaders (1 or 2 depends on number of Tiger leaders)

4.      Buy 1 Webelos Leader book

5.      All current scouts need to fill out new forms and pay ($25) with den leader.  Include Den number and leader on the form and turn in by Den Setup.  Leaders do not need to fill out forms.

  1. October Pack Meeting - October 19, 7:00 – Audubon in Auburn

                                                              i.      Meet at Massabesic Audubon at 7:00

                                                            ii.      Do awards then break into two groups.  Each group will have ½ hour session on Frogs, other will do scavenger hunt in the classroom area.

                                                          iii.      $65 for first 25 kids, $1 per child for additional (Dick bring a check)

                                                          iv.      Nancy will put directions on the newsletter.
