Pack 163 Committee Minutes

  1. Town Fair and Parade – Sept 8th: Noon – 6 or 9 PM
    1. Notes from last year

                                                              i.            Get more people to help Deb decorate the trailer or at least offer help.

                                                            ii.            Do candy again but save some to give to kids after the corner.

                                                          iii.            Police kids not to throw at vehicles, dogs, etc.

    1. Do we want to March in the parade Meet at 11:30 at MPR to line up?

                                                              i.      Yes, we will march

                                                            ii.      Sue will check on trailer, otherwise, we’ll all walk.

                                                          iii.      Sue will pick up candy

    1. Do we want a booth $15 (+$25 with electricity)?

                                                              i.      No

                                                            ii.      We could possibly put something in the Scout booth looking for registrations.  Sue will get sign at council office.

  1. New Scout Sign-up – Sept. 14 at CA
    1. Notes from last previous years

                                                              i.      Plan early for the registration and get more signs out, maybe have someone go to the classrooms and talk about scouts.

                                                            ii.      Need to advertise to all grades, not just Tigers.

                                                          iii.      Can order fliers from Council that talk about joining Cub Scouts.

                                                          iv.      Hand out list of dates and uniform stuff at sign up.

                                                            v.      Make sure we have books for everyone at the den setup.

                                                          vi.      Do a week between the sign-up and den setup.

                                                        vii.            Get flyers printed from council next year- They do the fancy ones for free.

                                                      viii.            Put flyers in newsletter.

    1. Sue will get lawn signs from council
    2. Mike will set up and try to do a talk to the school kids about joining cub scouts
    3. Sue will order flyers to put in school newsletter

                                                              i.      Sept. 21, 7:00 for Den setup

1.      Sue will reserve a room at school

                                                            ii.      Mike or Nancy will get Books (get numbers from sign-up)

                                                          iii.      Buy Cub Scout Leader Books for new leaders (1 or 2 depends on number of Tiger leaders)

                                                          iv.      Buy 1 Webelos Leader book

                                                            v.      All current scouts need to fill out new forms and pay ($25) with den leader.  Include Den number and leader on the form and turn in by Den Setup.  Leaders do not need to fill out forms.

  1. August Roundtable August 8, 7:00 PM – St. Elizabeth Seton (Bedford)

Directions to St. Elizabeth Seton:

·        Take NH-101 West to South River Road / US-3 Exit in Bedford.

·        Take a RIGHT at second set of lights onto South River Road and follow for less than a 1/2 mile.

·        Take a RIGHT at set of lights onto Meetinghouse Road (immediately after going under NH-101 bridge).

·        St Elizabeth Seton is on the RIGHT after the on-ramp to NH-101 East.

·        Meeting is in the basement.
