Pack 163 Committee Minutes
April 4, 2007
i. Larry gave some to Kevin

ii. Podium on stage with microphone worked well
iii. Length was great
i. Bring speakers if we are going to do music with the slide show
ii. Do candle ceremony next year as we will have more Webelos. If we do it, use the microphone for the kids.
i. Ted is going to find a room tomorrow
i. Sue got Police Dog and police man to go with it
ii. Talk about camp update

iv. Larrys Den will do a skit
v. Den leaders remind den of date
i. Ted will find out if we can camp at Camp Carpenter.
ii. We can do a camp fire.
iii. Will look into using Wason Pond as a backup plan.
i. Ted will find out about camping target Wason Pond and reserve MPR for rain plan.
ii. If we camp:
1. Individuals responsible for food.
2. All children must have a parent.
3. Everybody responsible for tents.
4. Have a flying challenge the next day. Each den can pick something to build (water rocket, Estes rocket, plane, etc.). Can have a prize maybe. Boys can bring friends to see flying challenge. Will need a time for the event.
5. Could have fishing derby instead.
6. Dick will get fire permit.
7. Dick will bring wood.
8. Mike will bring battery operated lanterns.
iii. Rain plan: Games at MPR or postpone until Saturday to do rockets/meeting depending on weather report.
iv. Get plans from last campout Eric.

ix. Need to sign up by end of this week. Kevin will sign up, Dick gave check.
x. Kevin will pick up Chuck Wagon Monday night to ensure it is in working order.
i. Summer camp is July 22 26
1. Ted, Eric, Mike will go.
2. Larry will go.
3. Kevin can do 1 or 2 nights.
4. For every 5 kids that go, one adult can go for free.
5. Deposit by March 7, give to Ted $50.
6. Ted will talk about at Pack Meeting.
7. Need to figure out a method for sending kids to camp with our camp $$ next meeting.
a. Ted will get people for campership.
b. If nobody going for campership, we will do something else.
8. Wear Uniforms to dinner
9. Based on # of boys, 2 leaders can go for free. Ted will try to see if we can get some more adults to go for free.
10. Ted will mention campership at Blue and Gold.
11. Hike-a-thon can be used to raise money for camp. Boys can keep 75% of what they make toward camp. Ted will get the rest of the information for hike-a-thon April 22.
ii. Parent Visits
1. Monday night is cooking in the camp site and parents can come to that.
2. Parent visits are discouraged for those who are homesick as it typically makes it worse.
iii. Adults:
1. 2 can go for free. Others need to pay.
2. For adults who want to switch off days, can split cost.
iv. Updates
1. Need to pay rest of Money by May 2.
2. Have $221 for scholarship $$. Can put toward defraying cost of extra adults.
3. Hike-a-thon Sunday, April 22 Can use 75% of this $$ toward camp. Starts at 10:00 AM. Can download forms online. Forms located on DW Website, Massabesic district, events.
4. Hike-A-Thon, if you want to go to game, it is $9.00 per person.

1. Dick found Falconry school that will come and do demonstrations for Cub Scouts. Dick has her information.
