  1. Advancement
    1. Anything to give to Kevin?

                                                              i.            No, Eric has something will email by tomorrow

    1. We can now do Internet advancement.  Who knows our “unit ID”?

                                                              i.            Eric will email Sue about the ID

 

  1. December 15 Pack Meeting – Holiday Party and Candy Bar Bingo
    1. How did it go?

                                                              i.            Kids were upset that they won and we ran out of candy or didn’t win.

                                                            ii.            Other than that, kids had fun.

                                                          iii.            Liked Toys for Tots

    1. What should we do different next year?

                                                              i.            Feedback Received: Instead of giving each winner 2 bars, I think they should only get one.  Some of the boys didn't get to pick anything even though they did bring their own bar.  I know one boy was left with just a tiny Halloween-size bar and he was kind of disappointed.  One of the other boys at our table didn't win until the end and by the time he went up all the candy was gone.  One of the other boys who one twice gave him 2 of his bars, which was great, but if each winner got to take just one, the prizes would last longer.

                                                            ii.            Need more rules about winning twice, etc.

                                                          iii.            Make sure we get a Marine who knows the Marine Corps birthday

 

  1. January 12 Pack Meeting – Representative from church to talk about mission
    1. Plans (From Last Month)

                                                              i.            Eric confirmed with Kevin Hatch.

                                                            ii.            Mike will bring a projector.

                                                          iii.            Eric will bring his laptop.

                                                          iv.            Eric will look into having somebody talk about the Cub Scout Religious Emblem that each Scout can achieve (on their own).  Eric will look up information and talk about it. 

                                                            v.            Nancy Pilotte is a mentor for the Catholic Religious Emblem.

                                                          vi.            Ted will look into having somebody come into talk about Camp.

                                                        vii.            Den 1 will do a skit.

                                                      viii.            Den 2 & 5 will do a cheer.  Then get all scouts up front to do cheer together.

 

  1. February 16 Pack Meeting – Pinewood Derby
    1. Plans

                                                              i.            Ted will try to get MPR

                                                            ii.            Tigers will weigh in at 6:30

                                                          iii.            Rest of the cubs will weigh in at 7:00.

                                                          iv.            Mike will hold Tiger Winner cars and hold on to until 1 week before district.

                                                            v.            Kevin will hold other winners cars and hold on to until 1 week before district.

                                                          vi.            District PW Derby is May 19th

                                                        vii.            Kevin (or Nancy) will get 1st, 2nd, 3rd place pins (2 sets) and ribbons for participation.  (Kevin will check stock to see how many ribbons we need so we can get just what we need).

                                                      viii.            Check with Sue to see if she can make up 3 awards for Tigers – Certificates like the cake bake for different awards (most original, most colorful, most outrageous, etc.)

                                                          ix.            At district, all 4 wheels have to be touching on a flat surface.  We’ll do this rule.

                                                            x.            Double Elimination

                                                          xi.            Larry will get scale to Ted to bring

                                                        xii.            Kevin will bring laptop and program to track heats and winners

                                                      xiii.            Last 5 are triple elimination if we want

                                                      xiv.            Last races, switch lanes

                                                        xv.            Dick and Ann Marie will be there to help out.  Ted, Dick, Kevin will be there at 6:00 to set up track.  Ted will check with Tom to see how to set up track.

 

  1. December Roundtable
    1. How did it go, what were the important points?

                                                               i.            Scout Bucks?

  1. January Roundtable January 10, 7:00 PM – St. Elizabeth Seton (Bedford)
    1. Who will attend?

                                                              i.            Nobody can make this one.

 

  1. Re-chartering
    1. How did it go?

                                                              i.            Went perfectly

                                                            ii.            Required to buy insurance – we didn’t know that

    1. What should we do different next year?

                                                              i.            Do same as this year.  Everyone filling out forms was good (even adults).

 

  1. Sleep-out to Boston Science Museum in January (Melissa Pollard).
    1. From last month

                                                              i.            $45 per person

                                                            ii.            Have to pay $$ first then they give you a date

                                                          iii.            Omni-theater and exhibits open

                                                          iv.            Melissa Pollard will chair the event

                                                            v.            Den leaders check with Den to see if anyone is interested

    1. Updates

                                                              i.            Ted will talk about this at the pack meeting on the 12th.

                                                            ii.            Ann Marie will get date this week.

 

  1. Misc.
    1. Pinewood Derby Cars

                                                              i.            Ted passed out tonight, will pass out rest at Pack meeting

    1. Nancy Pilotte has offered to print and bring newsletters as a backup plan if needed.

                                                              i.            Try to have newsletters to Mike by Tuesday of Pack meeting week.  If he cannot print for whatever reason, he will check with Nancy.

 

  1. Winter Carnival – Feb 10
    1. Details

                                                              i.            $5 per person (including leaders, parents) if registered by Jan 31.  $7 per person late registration fee.

                                                            ii.            Register as pack by mail.

                                                          iii.            Dick will copy and hand out at pack meeting.  He will also talk about this.

                                                          iv.            People need to have money and name to Dick by 28th for $5 registration fee.  Otherwise, it is $7 at the door.

 

  1. Outdoor Leader Skills (Please include in newsletter)
    1. Training for Webelos and Bear Leaders May 11 – 13 at Camp Carpenter.  This is required for Webelos campouts
