  1. Advancement
    1. Anything to give to Kevin?

                                                              i.            Dick submitted a form to Kevin

                                                            ii.            Eric submitted a form via email earlier this week

                                                          iii.            Sue will contact Nancy about her awards

    1. Remember the rules:

                                                               i.            All advancement must be turned in to Nancy/Kevin either hard copy or via email at the committee meeting (or earlier) to receive the awards for that month.  Any forms arriving after committee meeting day may not be processed for that pack meeting.

                                                             ii.            Need to use the forms Nancy made available on the web and fill in all relevant information on the form.  That way, there is no missing information required by council to receive and track the awards.

 

  1. Popcorn Fundraiser
    1. How did it go?

                                                              i.            ShowNsell locations and number of times worked well

    1. What should we do different next year

                                                              i.            Singles – Only sell Butter and Butter Light

                                                            ii.            Singles – Keep under table for as-needed, careful not to mix packages (individual packages not labeled)

                                                          iii.            Prize for doing showNsell no matter how many hours

                                                          iv.            Have adults mark showNsell forms and count the $$

                                                            v.            Selling at the dump needs to ask dump staff rules when selling and follow them

    1. How much $$ did we make?

                                                              i.            Dick will send a report

                                                            ii.            Dick will give report at Pack meeting and talk about what we use the money for

    1. Send-a-kid to camp donation jars

                                                              i.            Dick will send report

                                                            ii.            Will roll extra to next years send-a-kid to camp program

    1. TY Notes for Spolletts and Dump

                                                              i.            Sue did nice TY notes and had Pack sign them

    1. Scout Bucks will be given out at December Round Table
    2. Popcorn Pickup

                                                              i.            Den leaders will need to pick up popcorn for dens the week of Thanksgiving at Ted’s House

    1. Any scout who spends at least 4 hours at show ‘n’ sell gets a prize from pack (figure out prize at next committee meeting)

  1. October 20 Pack Meeting – Michelle’s Menagerie
    1. How did it go?

                                                              i.            Went well, excellent

                                                            ii.            Did a great job engaging the kids and keeping them in control

    1. What should we do again/different next year?

                                                              i.            Keep it the same if we do it again.  Should do a different group of animals.  We did rainforest this time.

 

  1. November Pack Meeting – Cake Decorating
    1. Plans (from last month)

                                                              i.            Cake decorating.

                                                            ii.            Do Cub Scouting theme (could be hiking, camping, camp fire, be creative).

                                                          iii.            Eric will put a blurb in newsletter

                                                          iv.            Sue will get boy scouts to judge

                                                            v.            Den 1 and Den 2 will also do a skit.

    1. From last year:

                                                              i.      Judge cakes, give out certificates, most creative and other themes. 

                                                            ii.      Bring unfrosted or base frosted cake from home and all frosting and decorations.

                                                          iii.      Do den recognitions after the cakes while judges are doing their thing.

    1. Finalize plans

                                                               i.            Awards:

1.      Nancy may have some ribbons, Kevin will check.

2.      Sue will do 1st, 2nd, 3rd plus certificates for creative awards.

                                                             ii.            Everybody keeps their own cake.

 

  1. December Pack Meeting – Holiday Party and Candy Bar Bingo
    1. Plans

                                                              i.            Need Bingo Cage

1.      Eric will get a bingo cage, buy at Walmart or check with PTA.

                                                            ii.            Every scout or sibling who wants to play should bring a candy bar – no nuts – check label.

                                                          iii.            Siblings welcome to play, bring candy bar.

                                                          iv.            Den leaders or kids bring pencils.

                                                            v.            Eric will print cards.

                                                          vi.            Eric will bring Xmas CDs

                                                        vii.            Ted will bring portable CD player

                                                      viii.            Need A candy cane or something for every child – Sue will do again.

                                                          ix.            Will add left over single popcorns to candy bin

    1. Should we do anything charitable this year?

                                                              i.            Homework for next meeting: everyone try to think of an idea.  Something close to home would be good.

                                                            ii.            Ted will check into having a marine come in and collect toys for tots.  Have every kid bring an unwrapped toy.  Have marine do a 5 minute talk.

 

  1. Veteran’s Day Parade Nov. 11
    1. Meet at 10:30 at MPR
    2. Ted will lead.
    3. Kids come in Uniform.
    4. Baked Goods for Steven’s hall for after parade

 

  1. Scouting for Food
    1. Bag distribution Nov. 11 – Get route at Scout Room starting at 8:00 AM
    2. Bag pickup Nov. 18 – Get route at Scout House starting at 9:00 AM

 

  1. New Leader training October 28, 8:15 to 4:00 at Camp Carpenter
    1. How did it go?

                                                              i.            Went well – Larry and Jane went

                                                            ii.            The training people weren’t well prepared

                                                          iii.            Next one for our district is March 10

 

  1. September Roundtable (Anne Marie or Ted)
    1. How did it go, what were the important points?

                                                              i.            Monarchs tickets.  Need to get forms/money to Ted by Thursday night.

 

  1. November Roundtable November 8, 7:00 PM – St. Elizabeth Seton (Bedford)
    1. Who will attend?

                                                              i.            Ted will try again.  Tommy may pick up stuff if Ted can’t go.

 

  1. Re-chartering
    1. How are we coming with getting applications and $$

                                                               i.            From last month

1.      Doing good.

2.      Need a two from Sue, need one from Kevin, need one from Dick, need a two from Katie’s den, need 2 from Terry

                                                             ii.            Updates:

1.      Dick’s is paid, Sue and Katie each need 1.

 

  1. Sleep-out to Boston Science Museum in January (Melissa Pollard).

                                                              i.            Eric will get a box for donations and bring to pack meeting

    1. Make a Pack campership fund

                                                              i.            Done

    1. Pinewood Derby Cars

                                                              i.            Ted will order them and get them for December.  Give cars to Den Leader to hand out.

    1. Religious emblem – Eric will coordinate with Pastor’s presentation.

                                                              i.            Have them mention it is available, have your den leader look into it if you are interested.
