Next pack meeting will be January 12th.  A representative from our charter church will be doing a presentation on some missions they do. 

 

SCOUTING FOR FOOD

There was a tremendous turn out by the Cub Scouts!  Thanks to all who participated.  Over 1700 food items for collected for the Manchester Food Pantry.  Great Work!

 

DISTRICT NEWS

Science Museum Sleepover

We are looking at getting a group together for one of the Science Museum Sleep over nights in January.  The cost is $45 per person.  This after hours event includes the Omni Theater and open exhibits, followed by sleeping in the museum.  Please let Melissa Pollard (msmpollard@aol.com) know soon if anyone in your Den is interested.  We are looking at January 26th as a possible date.

Scout Night with the Monarchs

All Scout tickets are $10 per person -Monarchs games scheduled for Sat. Jan, 27th at 7:35pm and Sat. April 7th at 2:05pm.  Tickets are $10.00 each.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Winter Carnival

The 2007 Winter Carnival will be held on February 10.  This is a fun filled day at Camp Carpenter.  The Carnival is a 6 hour period where the scouts are free to move around at their own pace to the different activities.  Last year there was ice skating, ice fishing, rain gutter regatta, mountain man, and much more.  It is a great time to spend as a Den.  Your Den leader will have more information on signing up.

RECYCLING SCOUT STUFF

We are looking at collecting out grown scout uniforms to hand down to younger scouts.  Please let your den leader know if you have any for recycling.

 

IMPORTANT REMINDER

As we enter the winter season, there is a chance we will have a snow day on a day where scouts is scheduled.  The Pack 163 rule is No School, No Scouts.  If school is cancelled on the day of a pack meeting, there will be no meeting that night.

Summer Camp Info for Webelos 2

On January 22 (snow date 1/27) there will be a scout/parent info night at the gym at 7 PM for any Webelos 2 scouts interested in attending Boy Scout summer camp.  This year’s troop committee has decided only to attend one DWC camp.  We are going to Camp Bell July 1st- 7th. This is an excellent experience for the soon-to-be new Boy Scouts.   Important dates:

· March 5th: full payment (estimate of $300) is due. 

· March 12th: Campership forms due. 

· May 7th: all paperwork, including medical forms, are due.

DEN NEWS

Den 2:  These scouts are working on learning the Boy Scout oath and getting ready to cross over in March.

Den 8:  The scouts in Den 8 have been busy having fun.  They are working on their Wolf achievements and electives along the way.  They are planning their Christmas party where they will be playing some games they made at the last meeting.  They have graduated to power tools.
