DEN NEWS Den 1: We’ve been having fun working on some electives over the last couple of weeks. Most of the boys have earned their Gold Bear Arrow point and 1 Silver Arrow point! Great work!
Den 4 & Den 7: We spent the evening working with Mr. Ciccarello at the Londonderry High School Woodworking shop on Thursday, March 22nd. The Webelos and Wolves worked with hand tools and power tools (each scout was assisted by a parent) to make a Woodpecker Door Knocker (Webelos) and a wooden trick toy (Wolves). Our trip to the woodworking shop is one of the highlights of the year for us! Next, we will be going to the Audubon to do some work with a Naturalist on Thursday, April 19th from 5:30 to 7pm. Some of the Webelos from Den 5 will be joining us. All of the Webelos will achieve their Naturalist Badge by going to the Audubon and working with the Naturalist.
Den 10: This past month, most of the boys made leather neckerchief holders with a wolf stamped on them. The Dad's used a mallet and stamped the wolf on the leather for their scouts. Dads and their sons laced the backs and everyone learned how to tie a square knot. We discussed the journey we took together achieving our rank and awards and the fun we will be having achieving out Wolf rank. We also reviewed the Tiger Track activity list and had them check off 10 activities we had done either in the den or at home this past year toward their first Tiger Track bead.
